I was afraid I would not have anything ready this week to link up with Tara over at 4th Grade Frolics, but alas I was able to come up with something. I stopped at Home depot today to pick up a class set of those cute (NOT!) functional aprons (77 cents!) to use as book bags for my kiddos. I loved the idea, but I was so not lovin' the HD logo smack dab in the middle. What to do? What to do?
Well...
I purchased this super cute scrapbook kit from Just So Scrappy Too, which matches the color theme I want to use for my classroom
and I have been trying to figure out what I wanted to do first.
I decided to make some labels to cover up that logo (about 4" square.)
I laminated them and then used Velcro dots to secure them to the aprons.
That way, I can reuse (and wash) the aprons every year and still have them personalized for the kids.
I stuck 2 loop sides (the fuzzy side) on the corners of the tag,
and then put the hook side directly on top of the loop side with the sticky side up.
Next, I placed the label where I wanted it on the apron to cover the HD logo. Now the velcro dots are in just the right spot to match up with the lable.
Much better, I think, don't you?
Now on to Manic Monday from Classroom Freebies...

so cute!! Thanks for sharing. I am gonna miss the meet-up tomorrow. Last time it was my truck and this time it is my husband's car. His radiator broke or something. I don't know... I do know it is no longer in the car so he has been driving my truck. Which means that I am stuck at home 1 1/2 hours from the cheese factory. =(
